I expect everyone is familiar with the concept of throwing a frog into a pan of boiling water only for it to jump out, writes Gary Dixon of Resources Compliance. Conversely, it is said that a frog placed in cold water can be boiled alive if the temperature is increased only slowly. I’m no biologist but it strikes me that this behaviour provides an insight into the state of the UK financial services industry as we approach 2008.
