The new boss
This guy will play a significant role in your firm's future. Esther Martin reports on the incoming head of UK financial markets and conduct regulation.
With Martin Wheatley confirmed as CEO of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), financial services providers in the UK now have a name for a key figure in their future: from 1 September this year he will be managing director of the FSA's consumer and markets business unit and will join the board of the regulator in the lead-up to the new regulatory structure, due to operate from the end of 2012. Other contenders believed to have been up for the job were Office of Fair Trading chief executive John Fingleton and FSA enforcement director Margaret Cole.
