CHAPTER 11
Ship’s delivery order
11.1 Introduction
The delivery order,1 in its original meaning, served as a document requesting delivery of a cargo that was in custody of a third party, such as a warehouse. By a delivery order, the owner of the cargo ordered the party who had the cargo in custody to deliver it to the holder of the delivery order or to the party named in it.2
