Over the years the role of mediator has evolved from that of tribal elder dispensing advice and guidance in the settling of disputes to the contemporary mediator who can bring to bear a plethora of techniques and methods to help achieve settlement. Whilst no one particular style is best, the knowledge of how and when they should be applied is critical to a successful mediation.
