INTRODUCTION

Venezuela has not ratified the Conventions relating to Limitation of the Liability of Owners of Sea-going Ships of 1957 and Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims of 1976. However, Venezuela has incorporated the International Conventions on its new Maritime Commerce Law (VMCL), in force since November 2001.
