The previous few chapters have concentrated on a broker’s role in placing and renewing an insurance policy. However, this is only one side of the insurance coin. The nature of insurance is that insureds occasionally suffer losses, in which case a claim will be made against the policy. Brokers will often be involved in the claims process on behalf of their clients and the next few chapters will concentrate on a broker’s role within this claims process.
