International Construction Contract Management. An Alphabetical Reference Guide.

The author is a surveyor and contract claims consultant with experience in a number of countries (mainly those with common law legal systems and contracts on the UK model). He had the intriguing idea of presenting a commentary on typical problems and questions that arise in the course of managing international construction contracts, arranged under headings in alphabetical order. His Introduction says that the book is to meet a need for a “practical and ‘down to earth’ reference book for professionals involved in the management of international construction projects to guide them through the issues that they face on a day to day basis”. So the book starts at “Acceleration: Directed and Constructive” and finishes with “Without Prejudice”. These two titles give a good indication of the range of subjects. They cover some which are central to project management as well those needed if the project is either not managed successfully or is beset by problems which require the management of claims.
