Jordan is a constitutional monarchy state that gained its independence on 25 May 1946. Jordan was transformed from an Emirate to a Kingdom and it is now named as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The first Constitution of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was enacted in 1947 and it was repealed by the current Constitution of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan of 1952.
