What does the future hold for Blockchain?

Prognosticating is never an easy exercise – even less so when considering the future of technological developments. After all, could anyone have possibly imagined, five years earlier in 2014, what the 2019 version of Facebook and its associated services would look like? What of the next generation of Facebook and Twitter in 2025 (if they are still even in existence)? Does this mean that it is impossible to predict what direction technology will take? It is submitted that this is not necessarily the case. As this book has shown, the legal regime in place is a significant factor to consider when evaluating the prospects of a new venture that seeks to compete with establish products.
