14.1 In the event of a dispute arising under a contract of insurance, it is important to identify those courts or tribunals which have jurisdiction to resolve the dispute.1 The choice of forum is not simply a matter of convenience. Variations between rules relating to procedure and the conflicts of laws in different courts and tribunals may mean that the choice of forum, in any given case, can impact upon the substantive outcome of the dispute itself.
